My Five Favorite Inventions of the Decade

It’s hard to believe that we are already in the first half of the 2020s! It seems like only yesterday we were watching the new millennium unfold. In these last ten years, we have seen so many incredible inventions and technological advances. It’s hard to pick just five favorites, but here goes:

Electric Bikes

If you’ve been around a business district like New York’s financial district, then ebikes are probably not a rare sight. But for the rest of the world, electric bikes are starting to gain traction as a preferred mode of transportation. They’re environmentally friendly, efficient, and a lot of fun to ride. No wonder people go crazy about them for the good half of the decade.

Virtual Reality

VRWhen Oculus first announced its Rift headset in 2012, virtual reality was still in its infancy. However, over the last ten years, VR has exploded in popularity, with headsets now available from a variety of different brands. Whether you’re using it for gaming, entertainment, or education, VR is one of the most immersive and engaging technologies that are out right now, and who to say in the future, we won’t be living in a virtual world.

Drones

Drones have come a long way since their military origins. These days they are used for everything from delivering packages to surveilling crops. They’re affordable, easy to operate and have a ton of potential for the future. Not only can we see things previously unreachable by humans, such as deep underground caves, underwater gorges, the Chernobyl ground zero, active volcanoes, and North Korea.

Autonomous Cars

teslaIt wasn’t too long ago that self-driving cars were just a figment of our imagination. But now, companies like Tesla and Waymo are making them a reality. Self-driving cars have been making a lot of headlines lately, and for a good reason. They have the potential to completely revolutionize not just the automotive industry but society as a whole.

We would no longer need to drive ourselves around or waste time looking for parking spots with autonomous cars. Traffic congestion and accidents could be reduced, and we could even see a decrease in the number of vehicles on the road.

PlayStation 5

With Unreal Engine, ray tracing, and backward compatibility, PlayStation 5 might be the coolest and most modern gaming console on the planet. It’s no wonder that so many people are buying them crazy. Not only does it deliver its promise to offer the best gaming experience possible, but it also revolutionizes how we view and interact with media. It is truly a gaming experience like no other.

These are just five of my favorite inventions from the last decade. What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments.…

What to Look on Buying the Best Laptop

Graphic design is much easier than a breeze these days. According to the asus zenbook pro review, futuristic is the first word that comes to mind when looking at the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo. This feature laptop can hold its own in terms of performance, but the most notable feature is a second screen. But if you are thinking of taking it to a professional level, you need to look for the best laptops for graphic designers on the market that fit your budget.

Screen Resolution

laptopAnything less than this is not suitable, and you won’t be able to run your chosen software. Also, a large proportion of the display devices on the market panels are relatively inexpensive and therefore widely available; however, the color quality they produce is low. If you decide to go for it, Retina displays can also be an excellent alternative. Many laptops are equipped with Retina-ready displays.

Speed

The speed of your storage disk plays an essential role in the performance of your device. High speed can help your programs start faster and run without any lag. In terms of form, they are similar to gamers. They are based on a wide range of memory chips. HDDs are cheaper than SSDs. Therefore, if you choose HDDs, make sure they meet the minimum requirement of 7200 rpm.

Processor

If you can handle this, then it is much better to look for a much faster system. It is a common misconception that Asus is the perfect laptop for artists looking for laptops for graphics, while Windows devices are for official purposes. While it is true that it has dominated the market for decades, and that’s why this culprit has gained a considerable reputation but stating the same thing today might be a distorted and outdated statement.

Memory

workingPlease don’t confuse this with memory, as it is something completely different, and you get the idea! We are talking about working memory, which acts as the upper part of the machine’s brain. For handheld purposes, an 8 gigabyte of RAM provides the ideal configuration for almost any program, but opt for a larger one if you can afford it.

As we mentioned earlier, these values are just the bare minimum, but the simple fact that you can upgrade your system further is undeniable. Considering that the CPU is now in the GHz range, you’re unlikely to notice a visible gain in your computer’s performance if you opt for a larger chip. Could spend money in a much bigger way if you go for 16 or even 32 gigabytes of RAM. Virtually all graphic design applications and programs work correctly on Windows. However, Windows devices are extremely customizable and very affordable.…

Ways to Improve Your Smart Technology at Home

There are smart gadgets for your home that are worth investing in to a new level. With the way technology works today, it is increasingly exciting to own smart home. Technology has been an essential feature of our homes for generations, and with lighting, temperature control, and possibly even the safety of your home, the devices you add are almost endless. If you currently own a smart home and think of improving it, here is a quick overview of what you need to do to make your smart home more elegant.

Add Voice-Activated Devices

applicationIn the past, voice-controlled devices could only play music. Today you can discover voice-controlled devices that can act as your supporters. And it would be best if you took appropriate measures to protect everything inside. Many of them include special programs to facilitate monitoring.

Install Smart Lighting

Combine it with sensors, dimmers, and wireless control, and you can save even more. You can turn lights on and off according to your schedule or add motion detectors to waste energy. If your smartphone isn’t enough, you can add an intelligent device that alerts you when you leave the lights on. In addition to alerts, this device can also give you an indication of how much energy your home has used.

Improve the Smoke Detector

ceilingHaving a smoke detector is essential at home. If it is not monitored, there is no way to be alerted of a possible fire at your home. For safety reasons, we recommend that you upgrade your smoke detector to a much brighter display. Most intelligent smoke detectors are industry standard today and will last a long time. In addition to battery life, they can also tell you exactly where the house’s temperature is displayed. They can put you in touch with regional authorities and fire departments for a quick solution.

Back up Your Router

If you are building a smart home, your concerns should not be limited to the type of appliances you can buy. Your router is one of the weak points of your home. Like your front door, you want to reinforce it to keep pests away. When you receive your router, change its default password to something that is not easy to guess. Do not use the arrival digits or the last digits of the phone number. If possible, create a long password and make sure you use alphanumeric characters to make it much harder to decipher.

Upgrade the Smart Doorbell

techThese additional features can mean a higher price. However, considering that they can improve your internal security for a faster response, it is a good investment. If you have a limited budget and buying new equipment does not seem feasible at the moment, your next best option is to invest in a system that can turn ordinary equipment into smart devices. Take the example of opening the door, even when you are not at home.

You can tell the carrier where to deliver your package or check with someone who has been paying attention to your door for a long time. Thieves prefer uninhabited houses. If you use the ability to open the door and reveal that you can find out what is going on around your home, you can make your home much less valuable to burglars. Smart bells can do much more, especially if they are equipped with all the perfect functions. Combined with night vision capabilities, live broadcasts, and a two-way call attribute, they can detect intruders and burglars even before executing their plans. If someone manages to infiltrate your hypothesis, you can even record a video as evidence.…
