It’s hard to believe that we are already in the first half of the 2020s! It seems like only yesterday we were watching the new millennium unfold. In these last ten years, we have seen so many incredible inventions and technological advances. It’s hard to pick just five favorites, but here goes:
Electric Bikes
If you’ve been around a business district like New York’s financial district, then ebikes are probably not a rare sight. But for the rest of the world, electric bikes are starting to gain traction as a preferred mode of transportation. They’re environmentally friendly, efficient, and a lot of fun to ride. No wonder people go crazy about them for the good half of the decade.
Virtual Reality
When Oculus first announced its Rift headset in 2012, virtual reality was still in its infancy. However, over the last ten years, VR has exploded in popularity, with headsets now available from a variety of different brands. Whether you’re using it for gaming, entertainment, or education, VR is one of the most immersive and engaging technologies that are out right now, and who to say in the future, we won’t be living in a virtual world.
Drones
Drones have come a long way since their military origins. These days they are used for everything from delivering packages to surveilling crops. They’re affordable, easy to operate and have a ton of potential for the future. Not only can we see things previously unreachable by humans, such as deep underground caves, underwater gorges, the Chernobyl ground zero, active volcanoes, and North Korea.
Autonomous Cars
It wasn’t too long ago that self-driving cars were just a figment of our imagination. But now, companies like Tesla and Waymo are making them a reality. Self-driving cars have been making a lot of headlines lately, and for a good reason. They have the potential to completely revolutionize not just the automotive industry but society as a whole.
We would no longer need to drive ourselves around or waste time looking for parking spots with autonomous cars. Traffic congestion and accidents could be reduced, and we could even see a decrease in the number of vehicles on the road.
PlayStation 5
With Unreal Engine, ray tracing, and backward compatibility, PlayStation 5 might be the coolest and most modern gaming console on the planet. It’s no wonder that so many people are buying them crazy. Not only does it deliver its promise to offer the best gaming experience possible, but it also revolutionizes how we view and interact with media. It is truly a gaming experience like no other.
These are just five of my favorite inventions from the last decade. What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments.…

Anything less than this is not suitable, and you won’t be able to run your chosen software. Also, a large proportion of the display devices on the market panels are relatively inexpensive and therefore widely available; however, the color quality they produce is low. If you decide to go for it, Retina displays can also be an excellent alternative. Many laptops are equipped with Retina-ready displays.
Please don’t confuse this with memory, as it is something completely different, and you get the idea! We are talking about working memory, which acts as the upper part of the machine’s brain. For handheld purposes, an 8 gigabyte of RAM provides the ideal configuration for almost any program, but opt for a larger one if you can afford it.
In the past, voice-controlled devices could only play music. Today you can discover voice-controlled devices that can act as your supporters. And it would be best if you took appropriate measures to protect everything inside. Many of them include special programs to facilitate monitoring.
Having a smoke detector is essential at home. If it is not monitored, there is no way to be alerted of a possible fire at your home. For safety reasons, we recommend that you upgrade your smoke detector to a much brighter display. Most intelligent smoke detectors are industry standard today and will last a long time. In addition to battery life, they can also tell you exactly where the house’s temperature is displayed. They can put you in touch with regional authorities and fire departments for a quick solution.
These additional features can mean a higher price. However, considering that they can improve your internal security for a faster response, it is a good investment. If you have a limited budget and buying new equipment does not seem feasible at the moment, your next best option is to invest in a system that can turn ordinary equipment into smart devices. Take the example of opening the door, even when you are not at home.
